Agriculture
Agriculture is the bedrock of food production, driving economic growth, and fostering social development.
We support the agricultural sector in the following ways:
We assist farmers in commercializing the production of lowland rice and promote major components within a value chain system for a sustainable market-driven approach to rice production.
We capacitate farmers, especially women, to set up their enterprises through business development, management, and governance training; this enables them to champion their own and advocate for their rights.
We conduct assessments to determine adequate market information on potentially profitable business and self-employment opportunities (particularly non-farm, non-conventional trades/occupations).
We develop business plans to build management skills, increase the production and logistical capacity of smallholder farmers in the agro sector. We also monitor, mentor, and supervise the implementation by providing technical and managerial guidance.
We formalize (register), train, acquire improved inputs such as fertilizers, tools, crop protection chemicals, and a variety of cassava cuttings for demonstration to be used by farmers.
