Amelia A. Ward, Chair
Amelia A. Ward is Development Economist with many years of professional working experience including serving as Minister of Planning and Economic Affairs for over a decade;
She served as Governor or Alternative Governor for Liberia for the African Development Bank (ADB, World Bank, ECOW-Mano River Union (MRU) Ministerial Council Meeting ECOWAS Ministerial Meeting etc.
Alexander L. Peal, Co-Chair
Alexander L. Peal is a conservationist who won the prestigious international Goldman Environmental Prize in 2000 for his efforts to protect and preserve the biodiversity and natural heritage of his home country Liberia.
In 1983, in collaboration with the World Wildlife Fund (WWF) and the World Conservation Union (IUCN), he organized the creation of Sapo National Park, Liberia’s first and only national park. He then spearheaded efforts to draft and enact the country’s wildlife and national park laws, and was responsible for Liberia’s ratification of the Convention on International Trade in Endangered Species (CITES).
John Y. Brownell, Member
John Y. Brownell has served in several capacities in both the public and private sectors locally and in the USA. During the interim administration of Liberia National Transitional Government (LNTG) he served in the public sector as Assistant Minister of Finance for Debt and Expenditure.
Mr. John Yedeba Brownell holds a Masters of Arts degree with emphasis in Leadership from the Augsburg College located in Minnesota, the USA in 2005. He holds a BSc in Management Information Systems with distinction (Cum Laude) from National American University, Minnesota, the USA IN 2003. Prior to that Mr. Brownell earned a BSc. in Economics from the Cuttington University College in Suacoco, Bong County, Liberia.
Patrick T.G. Alix, Member
Patrick T.G. Alix is a Board Member of ÆDE Liberia since 2008. Patrick is a Fellow Chartered Accountant with significant experience in economic development and the aid sector, including in Liberia. Currently, he is the Head of financial audit in a Supreme Audit Institution for a leading international organization. Patrick has over the years placed a personal focus on monetary creation and its impact on economic development and has published on the subject of monetary creation in an international professional journal.
